# AI Assistant in the portal (WebMCP)

> Let an AI assistant in your browser find its way around the Partner Portal and answer questions about your account.

## What it is

The Partner Portal can describe itself to an AI assistant running in your browser. It uses **WebMCP**, a standard way for a web page to tell an assistant which actions it offers. With a compatible assistant open in the same tab, you can ask things like:

* "What can I do in this portal?"
* "How is my account doing?"
* "Take me to phone numbers."
* "Find my customer called Acme."
* "What should I set up next?"

The assistant uses the same signed-in session as you. It can only see and do what you can already see and do, and it never gets your password or API keys.

## What you need

* A browser and AI assistant that support WebMCP.
* To be signed in to the Partner Portal in that browser.

There is nothing to switch on in your account. When a compatible assistant is present, the portal makes its tools available automatically on every page.

## What the assistant can do

These tools are available on every page of the Partner Portal:

| Tool | What it does |
| - | - |
| `whoami` | Shows the signed-in account: business name, contact, email, and approval status. |
| `list_areas` | Lists every area of the portal and what each one is for. You can narrow it to one group: Sell, Build, Run, Money, or Account. |
| `go_to` | Opens an area by name, for example "customers" or "phone numbers". |
| `get_page_context` | Explains the page you're on and what that area is for. |
| `get_account_summary` | Gives your account at a glance: customers, phone numbers, monthly recurring revenue, credit balance, and anything that needs attention. |
| `search` | Finds a customer or phone number by name or digits. |
| `go_to_dashboard` | Takes you back to the dashboard, which re-checks your setup progress when it loads. |
| `get_my_level` | Shows your level, streak, and the setup challenge you're on. See [Level system](/partner-portal/level-system). |

All of these tools only read information or move you around the portal. None of them change settings, spend credits, or send anything.

## Safety

* **Same access as you.** The assistant works through your own session, and the usual permission and plan checks apply to every request.
* **Nothing new is exposed.** The tools only use information the portal already shows you.
* **No secrets.** Passwords, API keys, and other credentials are never passed to the assistant.
