> ## Documentation Index > Fetch the complete documentation index at: https://docs.knotie-ai.pro/llms.txt > Use this file to discover all available pages before exploring further. # Server terminal > Give customers secure, browser-based access to their server directly from your white-label portal. ## What it is The server terminal lets your customers connect to their own server (VPS) straight from your white-label portal, right in the browser. There's nothing for them to install and no keys for them to manage — they open the portal, click connect, and they're in. In your customer's portal, this feature appears in the sidebar as **Server Terminal**. It's built to be secure: the customer's private access key is stored safely on our side and never sent to their browser, and each connection uses a fresh, short-lived session rather than leaving anything open in the background. ## Turning it on The server terminal is switched on in two stages. ### Step 1 — Enable it for your account This feature needs to be activated for your partner account first. If you don't see the option described below, contact Knotie AI support and ask them to enable it for you. ### Step 2 — Turn it on for a customer Once it's active on your account: 1. Open **Customers**. 2. Select the customer. 3. Click **Manage**. 4. Go to **Features & Add-ons**. 5. Find **Server Terminal** and toggle it on. The toggle only appears once the feature is active on your account. ## How your customer uses it After you've turned it on for them, the customer finds it in their portal: 1. Log in to the customer portal. 2. Click **Server Terminal** in the sidebar. 3. If they haven't saved their server details yet, they'll be asked to add them before they can connect. ## What your customer needs Before connecting, the customer needs their server details saved in the portal. This is usually: * The server's address (hostname or IP) * The connection port (typically 22) * A username * Their private access key If those aren't saved yet, the terminal will prompt them to add them first. ## How a connection works When the customer clicks **Connect**, a secure, temporary session is opened between their browser and their server. The terminal in the browser then talks to the server through that connection. When they disconnect — or after a short time — the session closes, and a new one is created next time they connect.
